On August 6th, we had the honor of engaging in a private virtual meeting with the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) to explore their potential participation in the Global Prize for Innovation in Desalination (GPID).
IIT is globally renowned for its cutting-edge research across diverse fields, including robotics, materials science, and life sciences. Their groundbreaking work on water purification, focusing on innovative materials and sustainable technologies, makes them a strong contender for the GPID.
During the meeting, we had the pleasure of speaking with Despina Fragouli, a senior researcher in the Smart Materials group, and Andrea Lamberti, a senior scientist in Advanced Materials for Sustainable Future Technologies. They shared insights on their forward-thinking projects, highlighting the potential of interdisciplinary research in addressing global water challenges.
